The booking experience.
The staff never cleaned the room. The air was out in the lobby and on most of the floors in the hallway. The rooms would only go to certain temp and then stop blowing cold air.
breakfast was outdated cereal which was hard and matted/ nasty orange juice that even smelled spoiled. A little bit of bread to toast, a couple of blueberry beagles, grape jelly. It was horrible. The pool was green and slimey. holes in the walls, faucets falling off tub. Toilet wouldn't stop running. Double room for 4 had 3 bath towels and 2 wash cloths and 2 hand towels.
quiet nice staff location off highway
pillows more breakfast offerings pool
The bed was nice
The a/c was broken in hotel, the pool was green, could not use weight room
The room was great. Beds comfortable. Everything very clean. Air conditioning working good.
The breakfast left much to be desired. We were expecting breakfast.....not yogurt, juice containers, milk, cereal, poor supply of breads and 1 very bad toaster. We headed down the street to The Cracker Barrel who I somehow think might be paying The Norman Hotel to not offer anything better. Also.............the lobby area and dining area had no air conditioning. One other thing is the outside of the facility was so plain and not at all inviting. Lots of trash - all containers overflowing. Even in the lobby, I spotted an empty water bottle on an end table when I checked in and it was still there the next day when I checked out.
The location was very convenient the rooms were nice we were put on a floor that used to be smoking but you couldn't smell anything had anything to do with smoke
The front desk staff was very unfamiliar with the check-in process and it took her a long time to get us checked in she didn't act like she knew what she was doing or could not even find our reservation the TV was not adjusted properly and the internet was horrible the AC unit could not keep the room at a comfortable temperature course that could have been because it was 95 degrees outside but still it had been on when we arrived
Nice location that was right off the highway. The facility was clean, and we received a great price for the night.
The hotel was uncomfortably hot and humid, and nothing was done to fix it. It was as if they were trying to save money by cutting utilities, but the window unit in our room was not enough to cool down the room. We couldn't even sleep because it was so hot. Also, the pillows were flat like they had been slept on for years.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable
The breakfast was poor for the style of the hotel . We thought there would be more variety.
It was fairly clean but you could tell things were older.
The air conditioner was not very cold. The TV didn't work. It only said no signal.
It was an average older hotel. Our room appeared to have fresh paint and a newer TV. Always nice to have a refrigerator in the room if you're staying for more than 1 night. We booked this hotel for graduation weekend. Other Hotels were asking 2x's & 3x's the money we spent here. 1/2 our group spent over $300/night for a room at a nicer hotel, but that was a rip-off! We had a small problem with the TV when we got to our room, but they sent someone up in 5 mins and he was super nice. The people at the desk were also very nice. Location was ok. Due to the construction on 35 coming and going is a bit of a pain, especially leaving. GPS took us to campus and downtown Main St. w/o having to get on 35. About 10 mins to restaurants on Main St. and about 12 mins to campus. There's a great restaurant (Bar W) only 5 mins from Hotel. There are plenty of chain restaurants close by. If you're visiting Norman for the first time, avoid the chain restaurants. Norman has dozens of great places to eat / drink. Ranging form dive bars to very nice restaurants. Yelp is your friend.
The bed in our room was probably old. You couldn't lay down near the edge w/out falling out of bed. The cooked food at the free breakfast didn't look too appetizing (I stuck to the apples they put out). Coffee was fine. Would have been nice to have a bar.
The room was very large & clean. The front desk people were nice even when I called wanting my phone & laptop charger back.
A piece of the coffee pot that holds the coffee was missing. Checked out & realized we had left our phone & laptop chargers. Called to see if they would go to room & get them. Was told nothing had been turned in.
close to family in Norman. great value for money.
still havent fixed water damage from prev storm damage.
The room was clean & up to date. I liked that the hotel was located in a convenient area. Check in/out was easy & quick. The clerk @ check in was nice.
The room was cold, in the dead of winter, and there was no thermostat. Our stay was due to an early (4:00 AM) surgery. That being said, other guests were very loud late into the night. Slamming numerous doors, yelling, running up/down the hallway & partying. My husband went into the hallway a few times & even asked if they could keep it down. I called the front desk, the clerk said he'd come up. He never did. I will never stay at this hotel again. I would even pay more to stay somewhere else if needed, that's saying alot!
Staff was very rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I see why they lost the Holiday Inn Franchise on this hotel
staff was so friendly and room was quiet and excellent.
